Brainerd man faces multiple mail theft charges
During a search of the vehicle officers located mail that was addressed to people and businesses other than the defendant, which included a bank statement and Amazon package to an animal hospital, several bills and checks to Brainerd businesses and several financial statements, packages, a driver s license renewal notice, a retirement account check, and United States treasury checks addressed to several individuals.

A 37-year-old Brainerd man faces six counts of felony mail theft.
Aaron Randolph Baumgartner was charged March 10 in Crow Wing County District Court on the six felonies of knowingly obtaining mail illegally.

The Minnesota Court of Appeals heard oral arguments Feb. 25 in the defamation case brought by Crosby Mayor James Hunter against Crosby city officials.
Hunter, who was elected mayor in the November 2020 election, appealed the Crow Wing County District Court’s Aug. 7 decision to dismiss his defamation case. Hunter filed the defamation case Sept. 9, 2019, stating he lost his reputation, his elected office and spent over two years of his life charged with serious crimes as a result of the actions of Crosby city officials.

CROSBY A 35-year-old Brainerd man is accused of breaking into a Crosby residence and assaulting a woman.
Shane Adam Simons was charged Monday, March 1, in Crow Wing County District Court in Brainerd for felony first-degree burglary and two misdemeanors of fifth-degree assault and fourth-degree intentional property damage.
