May 6, 2021 Massachusetts Senators Ed Markey and Liz Warren and Congressman Jim McGovern are re-introducing legislation that could impact the future of passenger rail service in Western and Central Massachusetts.  Labeled the Brain Train Act, the legislation would authorize the U.S. Department of Transportation to award 25-billion dollars over five years for high-performance rail projects.  The DOT would be instructed to especially consider regions that are unconnected or under-connected.
