Buncombe County commissioner Jasmine Beach-Ferrara will run for the Democratic nomination in the 11th Congressional district in Western North Carolina next year. Beach-Ferrara is the first Democrat to formally announce a run to unseat freshman Republican Congressman Madison Cawthorn.
Beach-Ferrara was elected to her second term on the county board last year. She’s also the founding executive director of the Campaign for Southern Equality, and an ordained minister. Beach-Ferrara released a video announcing her candidacy Wednesday morning, and unveiled her campaign team.
“I’m running because Western North Carolina families deserve better than they’re getting from Madison Cawthorn. My faith teaches me that leadership starts with empathy, compassion, and listening and then getting to work to help people. That’s the kind of leadership I want to offer instead of the division and mean-spiritedness we’re getting now,” said Beach-Ferrara in a statement. “T

Fox & Friends First gave Congressman
Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) something of a pass on the sexual harassment allegations raised against him and instead asked him about the “canceling” of
Dr. Seuss instead.
Ashley Strohmier interviewed Cawthorn on
Fox & Friends First, where the topics ranged from election laws to the Biden Administration’s border policy. The interview turned to the lighter side, however, when Piro asked Cawthorn to react to President
Joe Bidenomitting Seuss from his proclamation for Read Across America Day.
The news comes after Dr. Seuss Enterprises announced they would no longer publish six of the author’s children’s books because they contain racist imagery that the company acknowledges as “hurtful and wrong.” Piro emphasized he was “fired up” over the “canceling,” saying it’s “getting more and more outlandish by the day.”
Florida Representative Matt Gaetz (R) has continued to deny misconduct claims against him. At a “Save America Summit” event at the Trump National Doral Resort in Miami Friday, Gaetz thanked his supporters for refusing to listen to the lies spread by the mainstream media.
I would like to set the record straight on Mr. Jere Brittain letter to the editor last week. I have been a lifelong conservative Republican for 50 years living in Chicago, Ft. Worth, Rock Hill and presently reside in Hendersonville.
I really enjoyed the lecture given to our new Congressman, but Madison Cawthorn is a Conservative who believes in the U.S. Constitution. He supported a 10-day review of the election to see if there was corruption, voter fraud and illegal states changing their laws. He stood as a leader trying to find “Truth, justice and the American way” to coin an old phase.
