Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Sunday voiced frustration with what she characterized as Democratic leadersâ efforts to shut progressives out of key policy negotiations, a message that came as the details of a roughly $900 billion coronavirus relief package began to slowly trickle out just ahead of an expected vote.

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Friday shared her experience with getting the Wuhan coronavirus vaccine. Members of Congress are considered top priority for receiving the vaccine because of U.S. Presidential Policy Directive 40 (PPD-40) which ensures continuity of governance during a national emergency.
According to the freshman congresswoman, she will receive her second immunization when she returns to Washington, D.C. in January to start the next Congress. When I come back and get my follow-up shot in January, that s when immunity starts to kick in, she explained.
She shared a picture of a screening questionnaire for SARS-CoV2 vaccination which asked a number of questions, like whether or not the person getting vaccinated is immunocompromised, has severe allergic reactions or is on any kind of blood-thinning medications.
AOC, who often uses social media to demystify the inner workings of the U.S. government, walked followers through every step of the vaccination process in a series of Instagram Stories posted on Friday, December 18.
While wearing two masks, Ocasio-Cortez offered to answer any questions about the experience along the way, “I would never, ever ask you to do something I wasn’t willing to do myself,” she wrote on Instagram on December 19, alongside a collection of her videos. “Yesterday, in accordance with national security protocols, Congress began to get vaccinated. I documented the entire process and am here to answer all of your questions to help you feel as comfortable as possible with your health care decisions.”
