However, even as Hindutva took a pandemic pause, the opposition had the perfect opening to change the narrative in its favour but it failed to do so
The past year was devastating for India, as the Covid-19 pandemic impacted practically everything. In terms of economic activity, loss of jobs, incomes, hunger and impoverishment, the pandemicâs impact on lives and livelihoods has been quite disruptive. But its impact on Indian politics has not been as disruptive as it has been on the economy. Though it halted the Modi governmentâs Hindutva agenda, politically the Prime Minister seems to have navigated choppy waters, despite the governmentâs poor response to the spread of virus, the migrant workersâ crisis, inadequate health infrastructure at large and the poor state of the economy.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday expressed confidence that the ruling Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam-led alliance will return to power in the upcoming state elections in Tamil Nadu,
The Indian Express reported. The alliance also consists of the Bharatiya Janata Party and regional party Pattali Makkal Katchi.
“I am assured about the outcome [of the polls], looking at the excitement of the people,” Shah said during his visit to the poll-bound state to campaign for Pon Radhakrishnan, the BJP’s candidate for bye-elections to the Kanyakumari Lok Sabha constituency. The bye-poll will also be held along with the Assembly elections. The seat fell vacant after Congress MP H Vasanthakumar passed away due to coronavirus last year.
Bengaluru, Mar 7: The Karnataka High Court has quashed a private complaint and cognisance of offences taken by a trial court in 2013 against the Airports Authority of India (AAI), the Air India Ltd. (AI) and its executives on the Air India Express 812 plane crash incident outside Mangaluru airport on May 22, 2010, in which 158 persons on board were killed.
Addressing the gathering state BJP chief K Surendran said only the saffron party can save Kerala.
“People here are seeking a change from the corrupt fronts of LDF and Congress. The reformers have dreamed of a Kerala which is not this Kerala,” he added.

“The decision to join the BJP marks a new phase in my life. I always wanted to do something for Kerala. I felt it would be best to join the BJP and I have done that,” Sreedharan had said.
