Puducherry CM Narayanasamy continues protest against LG Kiran Bedi

Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Saturday continued his sit-in protest near Raj Nivas, demanding the Central government recall Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi. The ruling Congress-led Secular Democratic Alliance in Puducherry started a four-day protest against Bedi on Friday, claiming that she was not allowing the elected government to function. The Chief Minister along with his cabinet colleagues, legislators of the ruling party, and workers of the alliance parties have participated in the dharna. They were seen carrying posters and placards, reading Corporate Modi Quit! Quit!, Call back Kiran Bedi. She is not allowing the elected government to function and is interfering in day to day administration. People will sit peacefully and agitate for at least three days, the Chief Minister had said.

The four-day protest will start from January 8 onwards in front of the Raj Niwas. Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, his cabinet colleagues, legislators of the ruling Congress, and leaders and workers of the alliance parties will participate in the protest. No agitation is permitted within 500 metres radius of Raj Nivas, informed the police.

The indefinite protest would be held from January 8 in front of Raj Niwas, the office-cum-residence of Bedi, till she is sent out of the Union Territory, he said. Kick-starting a campaign in neighbouring Kalapetto mobilise people s support for the dharna, he said, We are not bothered about our posts and positions and we will face any consequence.
