Pokuase Bulk Power Supply point to be ready in July 2021

Graphic Online BY: Graphic.com.gh 705 The Bulk Power Supply Point (BPS) being constructed at Pokuase in the Greater Accra Region is 95 per cent complete and on schedule for handover to the government at the end of July 2021. According to the site engineers, all other ancillary facilities to support its full function have also been completed. The Technical Controller of the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA), Mr William Amuna, gave the assurance when he led a team working on the project, to conduct the Minister of Energy, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh around the project Tuesday (April 20, 2021). He said but for the outbreak of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak in Ghana which forced the suspension of work for a while and supply of materials from China, the project would have been completed earlier.

The agreement is to enable the deployment of broadband infrastructure to deliver high-speed data services to businesses and homes, especially in the remote areas of Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi and other underserved areas. It is also expected to enhance the country’s journey towards achieving its digital transformation agenda.

Dumsor: Sack GRIDCo Management If - Allotey Jacobs Tells Prez Akufo-Addo

  Bernard Allotey Jacobs has asked President Nana Akufo-Addo to take punitive actions against the management of the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) over electricity challenges in the country. GRIDCo has informed the public of its intention to cut power supply to some parts of the country. The electricity transmission company claims the company is undertaking maintenance on some power lines, hence resulting in the current intermittent power supply. The company has pleaded with Ghanaians to endure the dark for months till the company finishes its maintenance. But there are some people who don t believe GRIDCo. Critics  of the company and some Ghanaians have argued that the GRIDCo s reasons are mere rhetorics.
