Beware of hampers, they could contain expired products – A/R FDA boss warns The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has cautioned the public against neglecting labels and writings on food products to avoid consuming expired ones, especially during the festive period. Ashanti Regional Head of the Authority Nora Narkie Terlarbi advised consumers to carefully examine labels on products purchased to ensure consumer safety and avoid food poisoning and other health-related issues. Madam Terlarbi explained that the FDA has observed that most food products on the market, especially during seasons like Yuletide and Easter, could contain expired goods. “Although we have been intensifying our market surveillance to flush out expired goods from the market, it’s unto the consumers to read labels and check the expired dates to examine the wholesomeness of foods before consuming.”

Free covid-19 water ends on December 31 Listen to article Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has announced that the distribution of free water will come to an end on December 31. GWCL made this known in a statement dated December 22, 2020 and signed by its Chief Manager for Public Relations and Communications, Stanley Martey. The President Nana Akufo-Addo-led NPP Government introduced the free water supply program in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic in March 2020. Initially, the program was for three months but was later extended until the end of the year. But GWCL says that from December 31 going, “the payment of water bill will be the responsibility of the customer.”

Water crisis hit Aboadze, Abuesi communities Residents of Aboadze and Abuesi, two fishing communities in the Shama District of the Western Region, have been battling perennial water shortage for the past nine months.
