Los Angeles County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer dropped a big number on us yesterday: Of all the confirmed coronavirus infections reported to the county last month,
20% were in people who had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Let’s pause for a moment to let that sink in. In June, one out of every five coronavirus infections here occurred in someone who was fully vaccinated.

Farnitano said traveling to a COVID-19 hot spot can be very risky, especially if you re not vaccinated. In fact, he’s urging people who haven’t been vaccinated to consider a change of plans.
