Company spokesperson Deana Percassi shared the news in a one-sentence email early Wednesday morning:
“In accordance with the latest CDC guidance, fully vaccinated customers are no longer required to wear a face covering in our stores,” she wrote.
The news comes after the Tops Friendly Markets announced it was making masks optional for fully vaccinated shoppers, in keeping with new guidelines issued last Thursday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s announcement on Monday that, beginning Wednesday, fully vaccinated state residents no longer would be required to wear masks in most settings, including indoors.

WellNow Urgent Care, which has locations in Jamestown, Lakewood and Dunkirk, announced this week that patients will now receive COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction, or PCR, test results within 24 hours.
To speed up the process, the COVID-19 tests will be processed at WellNow’s in-house lab. The company explained that this will help reduce the timeline “between when a patient is tested and when the results become available.”
Before the change, WellNow sent the tests to a laboratory in Boston.
An appointment isn’t required to be tested at a WellNow location. The urgent care centers also offer COVID-19 antibody testing at all locations.

Cuddy s comments during the Cayuga County Board of Health meeting on Tuesday were in response to what two other health department officials â Nancy Purdy, the director of community health services, and Deanna Ryan, a senior public health educator â describe as a longstanding problem with the chain of urgent care centers, which has a location in Auburn and others in central New York.Â
Laboratories are required to report positive COVID-19 test results to New York health departments within 24 hours. However, Ryan said that WellNow hasn t been sharing the positive results with the local health department.Â
