The closure put first-time immigration permission registrations on hold as photographs and fingerprints are needed to complete the process. The Minister of State for Law Reform and Immigration, James Browne, said the Dublin office will prioritise customers whose appointments were cancelled when Level 5 restrictions were introduced in December. Registration staff will contact these customers in the coming days to reschedule their appointments, Mr James Browne said.

Three Arrests in Investigation into Illegal Immigration By Mike Gilmore Investigations into illegal immigration resulted in three arrests on Wednesday morning.  The Garda National Immigration Bureau carried out searches on six residential premises in Dublin and WIcklow. The operation was investigating an organised crime group suspected of facilitating illegal immigration within the common travel area with the UK. During the course of the raids, Gardaí seized suspected false documents, telephones, financial documentation. Three men, aged 52, 46, and 26 were arrested and are being held at different Garda stations in the Dublin region. The operation was carried out in conjunction with UK and Europol. with several searches also taking place in the UK.
