CORPUS CHRISTI – South Texas’ formerly conjoined twins are doing well, five years after their groundbreaking separation surgery at Driscoll Children’s Hospital.
That surgery, on April 12, 2016, was the separation surgery of conjoined twins in a triplet birth, which has the odds of happening one in 50 million births.
No one at Driscoll Children’s Hospital had ever attempted such a complicated procedure. After many months of intense preparation, fourteen physicians (led by Pediatric Surgeon Haroon Patel, MD) and a staff of medical professionals were ready to do whatever had to be done to offer the hope of a normal life to the conjoined twins.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â There s a staff of 398 employees at Corpus Christi Medical Center represented by the Service Employees International Union. For a year they have been bargaining for better pay.
âThere s a wage inequity that new people that get hired are getting paid more money than the older employees,â says SEIU Texas Field Coordinator, Adelina Gonzales.
Working an average of 36 to 40 hours a week, certified nursing assistant, Daniel Rodriguez says he s noticed the difference in pay between new hires and those who have been at the hospital for year.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas Wednesday night residents gathered to pay tribute and remember the many lives lost to COVID-19 in Corpus Christi as multiple one-year anniversaries in this pandemic are fast approaching.
Residents gathered near the Doctors Regional Hospital and held a candlelight vigil. Residents there said the candles represented light and their hearts.
Officials with Corpus Christi Medical center released a statement to 3News regarding the vigil held outside of Doctors Regional.

Military officials are investigating the accident, it adds. No additional details about the incident were immediately released.
