A MAN has been handed a community order and a restraining order after being found guilty of stalking. Anthony Relihan (57) of Park House, Lancaster, appeared at Carlisle Magistrates Court on April 7. He denied a charge of stalking relating to following a woman and loitering at her address in Cumbria. He was found guilty and ordered to complete a community order involving a curfew for eight weeks between the hours of 8am and 6pm. A restraining order was also issued against the victim.Relihan was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £90 and costs of £500.
A WOMAN will be sentenced at court after admitting being in charge of an out of control dog that attacked a police officer. Jacqueline Elizabeth Mcallister Hanratty (32) of Bankhead Avenue, Aberdeen, appeared at Carlisle Magistrates Court and pleaded guilty to one charge of being in charge of a dog - described as a large black Mastiff - that was dangerously out of control in Carlisle. The court heard the dog was so out of control it injured a police constable. Hanratty was remanded on bail until April 29, when she will be sentenced.
AN IPSWICH man has been fined more than £600 after failing to give information relating to the driver of a vehicle. The case of Robertas Krulis (33) Hatfield Road, Ipswich, was decided by single justice procedure at Carlisle Magistrates Court on April 1. He was found guilty of failing to identify the driver of a Volvo who was alleged to have committed an offence in Carlisle on February 3 2020. He was fined £660 and ordered to pay costs of £110 and a victim surcharge of £66, and disqualified from driving for six months.
