14:05 EDT, 4 March 2021 1.6k shares A father and son have been charged with human trafficking offences after an 58-year-old man was found in a 6ft shed where he had allegedly been living for 40 years.  In October 2018 police discovered the British man allegedly being kept in a decrepit green shed in Carlisle, Cumbria. Officers believe the alleged victim was being kept at the shed since he was around 16-years-old, with the 2018 raid finding a TV, one chair, a makeshift bed on the floor and an electric heater inside. Two men have been charged with human trafficking offences after officers discovered a 58-year-old man allegedly being forced to live in a shed in Carlisle, in October 2018

Man appears in court after he joked he had COVID-19, sparking major emergency response Carlisle’s magistrates’ court A Keswick man has appeared in court after he falsely claimed he had COVID-19 and sparked a countywide emergency response. Daniel Louis Friend-Finnerty 32, of Ashlyn House, Eskin Street, was drunk in Penrith made an emergency call to the North West Ambulance Service and claimed he had coronavirus in February 2020. If his claim had been true, it would have been the first case in the county. Friend-Finnerty told paramedics he had recently returned from Thailand, which at the time was classed by Public Health England as a high-risk country as the pandemic took hold.

Appeal against unlawful farriery conviction overturned for man caught shoeing illegally, again

Horse & Hound Trending: Library image Credit: Shooting Times / Steven Taylor A man who was convicted of his second offence of unlawful farriery, at Appleby Horse Fair, has had his appeal overturned, and been ordered to pay thousands of pounds extra in costs. The appeal of 27-year-old Jude Oliver Hubbard, also known as Jude Oliver and Jude Conlan, was dismissed by Carlisle Crown Court last week. Hubbard, of The Fairway, Moorends, Doncaster, had been found guilty of committing unlawful farriery, at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court on 9 December 2019. He had been stopped by the RSPCA and police while shoeing a horse at the Appleby fair on 6 June that year.
