Bangladesh Permanent Representative to the UN, and Ambassador Rabab Fatima urged the international community to come together to address the consequences of Covid-19 in an efficient, effective, and coordinated manner. She said this while speaking to the UN General Assembly on Friday on the Secretary General Antonio Guterres’ annual report and priorities for 2021. Ambassador Fatima thanked the Secretary General for his leadership in ensuring that the UN remains operational, despite the enormous challenge the pandemic has imposed on its work, said a press release.

Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has invited new US Secretary of State Antony John Blinken to visit Bangladesh and attend the celebrations of the Birth Centenary of the Father of the Nation and the Golden Jubilee of the country s independence.
He wrote a letter of congratulation to Blinken, whose nomination as the Secretary of State has been confirmed by US Senate on Tuesday, just more than a week after President Joe Biden took office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
