There is a lot to talk about this evening! First of all, record highs were shattered in Connecticut today. The temperature reached 77 degrees at Bradley International Airport this afternoon, beating the previous March 26th record by 3 degrees.  It is a Greater Hartford record that stood for 99 years until today! In Bridgeport, the record was shattered by 9 degrees! The high was 79 degrees! The previous record was 70 degrees, set in 1954. Danbury was the warmest location in the state today with a high of 82 degrees.
The other story is the wind. Gusts to over 50 mph occurred in some locations. There was a peak gust to 63 mph in New Haven early this evening! There was a gust to 51 mph in Bridgeport.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has revealed he narrowly avoided permanent spinal damage in a fall last week, confirming he will step down from his duties for at least six weeks.

ALTHOUGH it has been 30 years since an organisation was formed to investigate and improve the lives of dolphins in Port Phillip and Western Port, many questions remain unanswered.
Solutions to some lifestyle problems have been found, but recent events have again highlighted the mysteries that remain.
A sperm whale washed ashore at Phillip Island over the Labor Day long weekend and researchers have been unable to explain why so few dolphins live in Western Port compared to Port Phillip.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has been discharged from hospital to begin a significant period of rehabilitation at home for a spinal injury that will see him on leave for at least six weeks .
Mr Andrews suffered broken ribs and a fractured T7 vertebra after slipping on wet stairs at a holiday home on the Mornington Peninsula on 9 March.
In a statement released on Monday, he said it had been a long, painful and difficult week and said he would be on leave for at least six weeks . I landed flat on my back and hit the steps hard directly below the shoulder blades fracturing at least five ribs and sustaining an acute compression fracture of the T7 vertebra, Mr Andrews said.
