Timber look battens from the Ever Art Wood collection by Covet International were used in combination with concrete to deliver a distinctly modern aesthetic to the façade of a private residence in Flinders.
Located in the seaside town on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, the home’s facade comprises of finishes that are beautiful and built to last.
The charred black timber cladding on the property’s east is reminiscent of Shou Sugi Ban, a centuries-old Japanese technique that preserves timber by torching it with fire to create a beautiful textured, ebony finish. This is paired perfectly with timber look Ever Art Wood battens in Burakku Erumu, which add further interest and texture to the facade.

Police stopped 14 motorists for using their phones and seven for not wearing seat belts in just one hour near a Christchurch intersection this morning.
The police check point was set up on Lincoln Rd near the intersection with Blenheim Rd in Addington from 8am to 9am on Friday.
Acting Sergeant James McClurg said police are setting up one or two traffic stops a day across Christchurch in a bid to catch motorists breaking the rules.

Serious pinot noir fans love to row over which is the grape’s second best region. First is Burgundy, of course, the spiritual home of this variety – few would argue with that. But where else does pinot excel?
