CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) - A tornado siren test was held Wednesday morning, March 17 in Murray and Calloway County.
According to the Calloway County Emergency Management, the tornado siren test that was scheduled for Tuesday morning was canceled at the last minute due to the shooting investigation next to the Murray State University campus.
After consulting with city officials, and due to the severe weather threat on Wednesday, they decided to conduct an abbreviated test at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

KENTUCKY (KFVS) - A statewide tornado drill in Kentucky will be held on Tuesday, March 16 at 9:15 a.m.
According to the Calloway County Emergency Management, it will be different in that all sirens in the county will be activated at the same time, and will be done when the Tornado Warning alert is received from the National Weather Service.
Schools, businesses and homes are encouraged to review and practice their severe weather/tornado plans.

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) - A deputy was injured after crashing a sheriffâs office vehicle when he swerved to avoid a deer in the road.
According to the Calloway County Sheriffâs Office, they were notified of the crash around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27 on Highway 641 South near the Midway community.
They said the preliminary investigation showed the deputy was going northbound on Highway 641 in the Dodge Charger when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer in the road. The vehicle left the road, overturned and hit a telephone pole.
