Kimberley Flying Squad arrested a man after he was found with suspected stolen property.
It is alleged that on 06 May 2021 at about 04:00, members were doing their normal patrol duties when they stopped and searched a man riding a bicycle. The following items were found in his possession, a bike battery, two cell phones, headphones, vehicle jack, and a knife, which the suspect could not give a reasonable explanation of where he got them. All items valued at approximately R17 000-00 were confiscated and the suspect was arrested.
He is expected to appear in Kimberley Magistrates’ Court soon on a charge of possession of suspected stolen goods.

A dodgy tender awarded to a company that promised to supply vinyl sheeting to the Kuruman Hospital was probed after irregularities within the contract were discovered last year, with several employees from the department arrested in November 2021.

Three suspects arrested for Cassandra copper cable theft DFA 08/02/2021
THREE suspects were arrested for the alleged theft of copper cable in Cassandra on Sunday.
The copper cable recovered at the scene is estimated to be worth about R15,000.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Dimakatso Mooi said the arrests came after members of the Kimberley Flying Squad reacted to a complaint about copper cable theft that was in progress in Samaria Road.
Mooi said that with the assistance of the Cassandra neighbourhood watch, the police found the suspects hiding in the veld.
“Further investigation led the police to the discovery of the alleged stolen copper cable,” said Mooi.

Police in the Northern Cape are investigating after a man who had just appeared in the Kimberley Magistrate s Court was shot multiple times on Wednesday.
According to the police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Dimakatso Mooi, the victim was shot outside the court and taken to hospital in a critical condition.
Mooi said a 28-year-old woman handed herself over to the police claiming she shot the victim. The motive of the shooting is unknown at this stage as police are still investigating. The female suspect is expected to appear before court soon on charges of attempted murder, Mooi said.
ER24 spokesperson Ross Campbell said paramedics arrived on the scene at 16:30 to find the area cordoned off by police and another private emergency service.
