Guwahati: Various organisations in Assam will begin fresh agitations against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). During the protests, the organisations will also seek the release of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader Akhil Gogoi, who was taken in custody during the protests last year.
According to local reports, the agitation will be launched from Sivasagar in eastern Assam. It will then be carried out throughout the rest of the state. The agitators have been demanding that the CAA be rolled back.

JORHAT: As many as 11 organizations and a large number of local people in the Mariani area here along the Assam-Nagaland border in Jorhat district blocked the historic Dhodar Ali in protest against Naga encroachment on Assam land. They demanded the government to evict the Naga Police camp allegedly set up on Assam soil; and also threatened to take up indefinite blockade on the historic road if their demands were not addressed.
