Collinsville man wanted on child porn, abuse charges located in Illinois Herald Democrat Charles Joseph Zoph, 60, of Collinsville was arrested Monday in Illinois by the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task of the United States Marshals Service. A statement from the Grayson County District Attorney s Office said Zoph was indicted by a Grayson County Grand Jury earlier this month for 11 counts of possession of child pornography and five counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child. Grayson County Criminal Investigator Don Tran, who serves as a Task Force Officer with the U.S. Marshals Service, quickly located Zoph following his indictment. Zoph will be transported to the Grayson County Jail shortly thereafter, the release said.

Whitesboro man gets prison sentence for meth charge

Herald Democrat Otis Bradshaw, 28, of Whitesboro pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine in the amount of 4-200 grams. A written statement from the Grayson County District Attorney s Office said As a part of a plea agreement reached with the office, Bradshaw was sentenced to 30 years in prison by Judge Jim Fallon of the 15th District Court Friday morning. The statement said that on November 9, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office began investigating a case of credit/debit card abuse when an individual came to the Sheriff’s office to report that his card had been used without permission. During the course of the investigation, Bradshaw was identified through text messages and other electronic evidence as the suspect of the theft. GCSO Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Bradshaw and arrested him on October 7. Trial for Tim Barnum, Tyrone Sommers accused of Denison Halloween killing reset to April

By Jerrie Whiteley Herald Democrat Two men accused of killing Robert Allen in October of 2017 will not go to trial next week. The trials for Timothy Barnum, 48, and Tyrone Sommers, 50, have been continued until April 5. The two men have both pleaded not guilty to murder charges in connection with Allen s death. The case began  on Halloween of 2017 when police were called to Allen Plumbing just off of Eisenhower Parkway in Denison at around 10:30 p.m. about shots fired at the location. Inside the family business, police found Robert Dale Allen, 55, deceased. Information released at that time did not identify Allen. But, he was named as the deceased one day later. Police said they did not have a suspect in the case. As time wore on, a reward was offered for information that led to an arrest and conviction. And, it increased. The reward went from $1,000 to $10,000 with the Grayson County District Attorney s Office and an anonymous donor supplying most of that money.
