When I took up the challenge of transforming my backyard with zero knowledge, I was left wondering how anyone else in my position got started? It didn’t come naturally! Well, my pale green-thumbed friends, the answer is literally waving at you from the planted-up traffic island down the road, or the park your local playground is in, the front gate of the local school or even in a cemetery garden. Auckland – Tāmaki Herenga Waka Festival Saturday, January 23 The annual celebration of the Māori history of seafaring is back for the fifth year.
