The service at the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn was a special moment for Black people and countless others who were touched by the life, the legacy and the love of Earl “DMX” Simmons. In a very painful moment, those who were sorrowing, especially the women and children in his life, were able to enjoy some measure of relief and consolation.
Some of the most poignant and appreciated words came from the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam. The Muslim Minister delved deeply into Christian scripture to draw on the life and words of Jesus and other lessons found in the divine books to put the life, suffering and triumph of DMX into perspective.

Family members, friends and clergy members dressed in white and red honored the life and faith of hip-hop icon DMX at his homegoing celebration Sunday (April 25) in New York.
Religious leaders and musicians prayed, sang and delivered moving tributes as members of DMX’s family sat in the first rows of the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn. The private funeral service began 2:30 p.m. ET Sunday and was broadcast live on BET and the network’s YouTube channel.
The 50-year-old Grammy-nominated rapper and actor grew up just north of New York City in Yonkers and delivered iconic hip-hop songs such as “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem” and “Party Up (Up in Here).” His electrifying music focused on themes of religion, violence and redemption, and inspired scores of fans and performers worldwide.

“I wanted him to see me graduate high school, so I could do stuff with him that we never got to do,” DMX’s son said.

During the service, several of his kids approached the podium to share heartfelt sentiments about their father. Some teared up and braced before speaking to the crowd. Others, delivered jokes, read poems and recalled memories. All of them realized the moment at hand. Their dad has transitioned and they will never be able to do the things kids get to do with their parents ever again.

Balenciaga has designed a shirt in honor of the late DMX and it s all because of Kanye West.
As per Page Six, West helped raise $1 million for the late rapper’s family via proceeds from the tribute piece. As the story goes, the rapper commissioned the designer shirt through his Yeezy brand at $200 apiece and the item sold out within 24 hours over the weekend. Proceeds from the sales will go directly to his family, who remembered the star at a private funeral service at Brooklyn s Christian Cultural Center on Sunday, as well as at a star-studded ceremony at Brooklyn s Barclays Center the day prior.
