Letter to the editor: Church s Thanksgiving baskets a success Beth Bailey Editor: First of all, thank you for providing a forum to praise some wonderful volunteers. With 2020 as it has been, it would be easy to just sit back and let the world go by; but that did not happen this Thanksgiving. My church, Christ United Methodist Church, yearly makes Thanksgiving baskets for around 100 (more or less each year) families that might be struggling. I want to thank Donna Gotschall, Youth Director of the church, and the super great kids (and their families) for canvassing the Edgeworth Addition for non perishable goods. They were very successful. Thanks Edgeworth folks! The Youth group also sorted all the food, and helped pack the bags and helped to carry out to the cars; Covid protocol was maintained.

Cambridge schools enhancing food distribution during remote learning Special to The Daily Jeffersonian The Cambridge City School District and its food service provider, the Nutrition Group, will enhance the district s food distribution program in conjunction with the decision to transition to remote learning for all students until the holiday break begins on Dec. 24. This Friday from 10 to 11 a.m., there will be a six-day breakfast and lunch meal pack pickup opportunity at the following locations: • Garfield Administrative Center • Christ United Methodist Church parking lot • Rustic Acres Apartments • Between Cambridge Village Apartments and Laughlin Woods Apartments. There will be 1,000 meal packs available that includes six breakfasts, six lunches, a gallon of milk and a half gallon of orange juice.
