GUWAHATI: The Lachit Sena has slammed the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) and the Congress for not reviving the paper, sugar and jute mills of the State during their respective regimes.
Addressing the media here on Tuesday, Lachit Sena sself styled commander-in-chief Amar Baruah alleged, The BJP and the Congress during their respective tenures didn t revive the mills as the government will have to face problem in introducing schemes dedicated to the employed youths.

GUWAHATI: Rahul Gautam, an officer of Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers from UPSC s 1985 batch joined as the Additional General Manager of N.F. Railway recently. Prior to joining he was working as the Principal Chief Electrical Engineer of South Eastern Railway, Kolkata.
Gautam who completed his BE (Electrical) from the University of Roorkee started his career in the South Central Railway, Secunderabad. He worked for 8 years in manufacturing of Diesel/Electrical locomotives at the BLW, Varanasi and also underwent training in USA, Canada and Germany for Technology transfer of 4000 HP Diesel locomotives.

NEW DELHI: In an unusal exchange of words, the Chief Justice of India SA Bobde asked a rape accused who repeatedly raped a minor girl, if he would marry the victim.
According to reports, the top court was hearing the bail request of one Mohit Subhash Chavan, a technician with the Maharashtra State Electric Production Company who was accused of raping a schoolgirl and now faces charges under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) law.
