A Vancouver man who fatally shot a friend while playing Russian roulette at an apartment in northeast Hazel Dell was sentenced Tuesday in Clark County Superior Court to six years in prison.
Defense attorney Louis Byrd Jr. told the court that his client, Korbin Andrew Bourn, and the victim, 22-year-old Dayton S. Miller, were willful participants in the deadly game.
“One squeeze of the trigger separated the individuals. It could have gone either way,” Byrd said.

A Battle Ground woman is accused of being the getaway driver in a June robbery of a marijuana dispensary in downtown Vancouver.
Alexis Paige Morrison, 20, appeared Thursday via Zoom in Clark County Superior Court on suspicion of first-degree robbery, court records show. Morrison was granted supervised release; she will be arraigned Feb. 23.
At about 9:30 p.m. June 27, Vancouver police responded for an armed robbery at High End Market Place marijuana dispensary, 1924 Broadway. An employee reported that three masked males, one armed with a shotgun, made off with marijuana product and money, according to an affidavit of probable cause. They reportedly fled in a purple sedan.

A 57-year-old man is accused of groping a 13-year-old girl inside a Vancouver convenience store last month.
John David Hostetler, of Vancouver, appeared Friday via Zoom in Clark County Superior Court on suspicion of second-degree child molestation.
Judge Daniel Stahnke set Hostetler’s bail at $50,000, court records show. He is set to be arraigned Friday.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, the girl was with her grandmother at 7-Eleven, 3200 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., on Jan. 14 when an unknown man grabbed the girl’s buttocks after rubbing his body on her back. The grandmother confronted the man, and he ran away.

A Vancouver woman accused in a Jan. 31 fatal hit-and-run of a pedestrian on Interstate 5 told investigators that her passenger had jumped head first from the moving vehicle during an altercation and died.
That passenger, identified as 33-year-old Kendra M. Fain, of Sutherlin, Ore., suffered “an obvious traumatic head injury” and was found dead by authorities at the scene, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed in the case.
