Collins – a barbershop owner who was accused in September of threatening, spitting on and using derogatory names toward LGBTQ demonstrators – nor one of the demonstrators. Collins was originally charged in Clark County Superior Court and was facing three counts of malicious harassment, a hate crime in Washington. However, the felony allegations were dropped, and the case was referred to Clark County District Court.

(The Columbian files) A Seattle couple are accused of kidnapping a man, who apparently owed a drug debt, from the Hazel Dell Walmart. Joseph Miguel Hall, 49, and Thomas Anthony Dituri, 39, both appeared virtually on a summons Thursday in Clark County Superior Court. They entered not-guilty pleas to first-degree kidnapping and were given a trial date of June 1. Both men were granted supervised release, in part, due to the circumstances created by COVID-19.

Sasser has been appointed as a court commissioner. Sasser has already been serving as a commissioner pro tempore for Superior Court since 2019. She will take the bench in her new role in January, according to an email from Superior Court administration. She fills the vacancy left by the death of Commissioner Dayann M. Liebman’s in September. Sasser started her legal career at Stahancyk Kent & Hook P.C. in Portland and has been practicing law in Clark County since 2006 at Landerholm, P.S., focusing on probate, trust, guardianship, real estate and family disputes.

(The Columbian files) A 42-year-old Vancouver man was sentenced Wednesday in Clark County Superior Court to five years and three months in prison for two separate criminal cases, one of which involved a police shooting. Judge David Gregerson imposed the sentence against Craig D. Stewart, rejecting the defense’s request for prison time that included a drug-offender sentencing alternative, a program designed to provide chemical dependency treatment and community supervision for addicted offenders.
