Malaysia has extended its Movement Control Order (MCO, or PKP) by two weeks, starting on 5 February 2021 up till 18 February 2021. This will apply nationwide except for most districts in the state of Sarawak, which will remain under the Conditional MCO (CMCO, or PKPB).

Islamic preacher Ebit Lew has issued an apology over the mass conversion of people in Semporna and has claimed that authorities do not allowed him to go there again.
In a Facebook post, he said he was told to leave the area or would face the consequences.
This morning I was informed that I was not allowed to go to the islands in Semporna. I was told that between the punishments could be a fine of RM100,000 or imprisonment for 3 years.

He also said that plans for the construction of a small school or local community centre has been postponed due to the him being forced to leave.

KOTA KINABALU, Feb 2 Popular Muslim preacher Ebit Lew has today claimed that he had to abandon his humanitarian plans to visit other islands around Semporna, two days into his visit amid the movement control order (MCO).
In a Facebook post, he also apologised to the Bajau Laut villagers in Semporna which he allegedly mass converted into Islam recently, saying he could no longer continue on his mission to aid the community.

KOTA KINABALU: Neither the Sabah government nor the police have barred popular Muslim preacher Ebit Lew from carrying out humanitarian work for people living on the islands in Semporna on Sabah s east coast.
Datuk Masidi Manjun said the state government did not object to Ebit going to the islands but the area was under a dusk-to-dawn curfew enforced by the Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom). We are not objecting to Ebit s visit and we have not issued any restrictions. We did not direct the police nor Esscom to do so.

TAWAU: The Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCom) arrested two men for possessing a total of 10,160 packs of contraband cigarettes of various brands worth over RM149,000, in a raid at a house in Kampung Hidayat Batu 4 here, yesterday.
Its commander Datuk Ahmad Fuad said that the suspects, aged 50 and 55, were detained in the 2.30 am raid.
“A search in a store room on the ground floor of the house led to the discovery of 8,630 packs of contraband cigarettes, while another 1,530 packs were stored in a room on the first floor,” he said in a statement here today.
