The anonymous matching donor for Paris Junior Collegeâs East Texas Giving Day grant has decided to triple the initial $5,000.
âWe cannot express enough our sincere appreciation to the matching donor who has been a longtime partner to PJC,â said Baleigh McCoin, Paris Junior College Director of Institutional Advancement and Alumni Affairs. âThis also would not have been possible without everyone who contributed to PJC on Giving Day. We are making history and changing the future for our students.â
The extra $15,000 brings PJCâs total from Tuesdayâs fundraiser to $31,942, a record for the college.

On the annual East Texas Giving Day event, donors gifted more than $2.7 million to area nonprofits, with Lamar County seeing part of the helping hand.
âI am encouraged and humbled by the way this community serves one another and shows up for one another, and it was very obvious with the way PJC was supported during giving day,â said Baleigh McCoin, Paris Junior College Director of Institutional Advancement and Alumni Affairs. âA big, sincere thank you to everyone who donated.â
Seven Lamar organizations participated and raised $44,918 for local foundations through 156 donations on Tuesday, many with matching funds. The organizations were PJC Memorial Foundation, Northeast Texas Trail Coalition, CitySquare Paris, St. Josephâs Community Foundation, United Way of Lamar County, Tailored Rides Equine Assisted Therapy Inc and the The Wesley Center at PJC.

EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - An 18-hour fundraising and awareness push for nonprofits in 32 East Texas counties kicks off Tuesday morning.
At 6 a.m., the East Texas Communities Foundation launches its annual East Texas Giving Day challenge online, which runs until 11:59 p.m.
Its website, www.EastTexasGivingDay.org, showcases more than 200 charitable causes and organizations operating across the region.
