The Delhi High Court on Wednesday directed the municipal corporations of North and East Delhi to release within two weeks the arrears of salaries of doctors, employed in the nine hospitals being run and managed by them, for the month of October. The direction by a bench of Justices Hima Kohli and Subramonium Prasad was issued on an application moved by the Indian Medical Association (IMA). The court also issued notice to the two corporations and the Delhi government seeking their stand on IMA s plea. It also allowed another application moved by IMA seeking to be impleaded in a PIL initiated by the court on its own with regard to payment of stipend/emoluments to resident doctors of the six hospitals run and managed by the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NrDMC).

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday directed the North and East Delhi Municipal Corporations to release within two weeks the salary arrears of doctors employed in the nine hospitals run and managed by them, for the month of October.
A Bench of Justice Hima Kohli and Justice Subramonium Prasad gave the direction on an application moved by the Indian Medical Association (IMA).
Later, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal congratulated BJP for the victory in all three civic bodies.
He tweeted: I congratulate BJP on their victory in all 3 MCDs. My govt looks forward to working wid MCDs for the betterment of Delhi.(Sic)
According to latest trends, the Aam Aadmi Party finished second in the municipal polls with 45 seats, followed by the Congress with 30.
The BJP has bagged 65 seats in the North MCD. Though the Aam Aadmi Party managed to win 20, the Congress bagged 15 seats in NDMC.
In East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC), BJP got 48 seats while AAP and Congress won 3 and three wards respectively.
