Gaskin to submit local businessman as interim COO Mark Alexander Jr. and Keith Gaskin
During a Thursday interview, Columbus mayor Keith Gaskin said he plans to propose the city council hire local businessman Mark Alexander Jr. as interim chief operations officer. The hiring would be subject to a vote by council.
“He’s got experience overseeing a wide range of departments, budgeting experience too,” Gaskin said of Alexander.
If hired, Alexander would take the reins as COO from David Armstrong, who retired at the end of June.
“I am ready and excited to serve the city for the near future,” Alexander said.

WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) - On Wednesday, seven inmates of the Clay County Detention Center received certificates during graduation ceremonies at East Mississippi Community College’s (EMCC) West Point-Clay County Center.
These graduates enrolled in the newly created construction skills program, hoping the training will help them land good-paying jobs upon their release.
Before enrolling in the class, the inmates had to take the WorkKeys exam to assess proficiency in the subjects like math and literacy.

The next time Donny Proffit sets foot on the floor of the Ford Wyoming Center formerly the Casper Events Center it will be in a pair of cowboy boots and not a pair of wrestling shoes. For Karson Bradley, she won’t fret too much about competing in collegiate rodeo’s biggest event she’s been there before.
Proffit will return to Casper this time for the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) June 13-19 as a member of the University of Wyoming rodeo team, not as a four-time state champion wrestler for Kemmerer High School (KHS). For Bradley, from Big Piney, this will be her second time around under the spotlight she knows the Ford Wyoming Center’s dirt arena well.
