Coun Trevor Burnham was invested during last week s annual Town Council meeting.
Because of Covid-19 restrictions the meeting was held on zoom, without the usual ceremony associated with the occasion.
There was no official handover or speeches and special meal afterwards with invited guests.

Presentations were deferred until they are able to meet in person.
The chain of office, which had been delivered to his home earlier, was put around Coun Burnham s neck by his wife, the new Mayoress Jane Burnham. Coun Burnham returned the honour for his Mayoress.

The Task Force, an alliance of place-making experts who are working to redefine the high street, requested that East Lindsey District Council nominate a specific local high street to receive their professional focus in order to create the best vision and strategy for the area.
Having worked closely with stakeholders in the district’s market towns through their Vital and Viable programme, the district council has put forward Horncastle to receive the task force support.
This will help to boost the town’s Vital and Viable action plan with long-term, legacy projects and provide professional guidance to local groups who are already working to help develop the town further.

Hamerton Gardens was one of these assets and to help keep the gardens in ‘blooming’ good condition Horncastle Town Council is seeking the input of local gardeners and volunteers.
Town Councillor Brian Burbidge said: “If you have some time to spare, enjoy gardening and want to meet and socialise with like-minded people in pleasant surroundings that you have helped to create, this is your opportunity to do so. There is no formal commitment – you can spend as much or as little time working and enjoying the gardens as you want, planting, weeding, pruning and socialising.

Merger will save up to £70,000
Boston’s separate housing and homeless systems are described as “no longer up to date”, “paper driven” and with “limited reporting capabilities” in a report before cabinet members on Wednesday.
Quotes to the borough to fully replace the system have ranged from £70,000 to £90,000. However, East Lindsey District Council has agreed to let Boston join its systems which were upgraded in 2019 – bringing the costs down to a one-off £6,930 installation cost and a further £13,995 for the two years remaining on ELDC’s contract.
The report said the new East Lincolnshire Housing Allocation Scheme “is a positive development opportunity for the strategic alliance”.
Lincolnshire Police carry out drug testing at over 20 coastal bars and pubs
One arrest and several warning letters
A multi-agency operation was carried out in more than 20 bars and pubs in Skegness, Ingoldmells and Chapel St Leonards, prompting one arrest and several warning letters to youths.
Operation California was launched in Skegness as part of Lincolnshire Police’s aim to prevent violence, anti-social behaviour and to tackle drugs.
Officers and staff from other agencies including East Lindsey District Council carried out searches at bars on the Lincolnshire coast on April 30.
They were supported by a drugs detection dog from the RAF Police, which led to the arrest of a man. He was arrested after cannabis was found in his car and he has since been released under investigation.
