Police in West Hants, N S arrest four people in two separate incidents

  HALIFAX RCMP in West Hants, N.S. say they responded to two serious incidents over the last 24-hours. Around 4 p.m. Tuesday, police say they responded to a complaint of an assault with a weapon at a home in Kempt Shore. Upon arrival at the scene, investigators say they found a 53-year-old man had been struck with an axe by a 26-year-old man. The 53-year-old was also allegedly assaulted by a 29-year-old woman. The man and the woman were arrested at the scene and released on conditions, according to police. Both will appear in Windsor Provincial Court at a later date.

N S man facing several theft-related charges involving dozens of stolen catalytic converters: RCMP

  HALIFAX A man from Windsor, N.S. has been charged after an investigation of more than 90 thefts of catalytic converters in numerous communities across Hants County and the Halifax Regional Municipality. On April 21 around 7 a.m., members of the West Hants District RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit, the East Hants District and the Halifax District Street Crime Enforcement Units, executed a search warrant at a home in Windsor. As a result of the search, police say they located several catalytic converters, tools to commit thefts, clothing, and electronic devices. RCMP say thirty-two-year-old Markus Benjamin Caldwell was arrested without incident. He was later released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Windsor Provincial Court in June to face several theft-related charges. Those charges include:

N S RCMP seek help to identify two men suspected of using stolen bank cards

  HALIFAX The Nova Scotia RCMP is asking for the public’s help in identifying two men who were allegedly videotaped using stolen bank cards at several businesses. On Sept. 15, 2020, the East Hants District RCMP received a report that a wallet had been stolen after it was left in a grocery cart at a store in Elmsdale, N.S. Police say the bank cards in the wallet were then used at multiple businesses in Elmsdale, Enfield, and Dartmouth. Police were able to follow up on multiple leads and obtained security footage showing two men using the stolen cards at various businesses, as well as driving a black Dodge Caravan.
