Number of homes for sale now at lowest level in over a decade Sherry FitzGerald says Covid accelerated shrinking supply of second-hand properties Wed, Feb 17, 2021, 05:18   The number of homes available for sale in the State is now at its lowest level in more than a decade, according to estate agent Sherry FitzGerald. Based on data taken from property websites Daft and MyHome.ie, the company estimates there were just 15,500 second-hand properties listed for sale in January this year. This is 24 per cent down on the same month last year – or 4,850 fewer properties. The headline figure is also a fraction of the 53,000 properties that were for sale in January 2011.

Property prices in Cork remain unchanged for Q4 2020

tom@TheCork.ie Property prices in Cork have remained unchanged during the quarter, according to the latest MyHome.ie Property Report in association with Davy. The report for Q4 2020 shows that the median asking price for a property in the county is still €250,000. This represents an increase of €5,000 compared to this time last year when the median price was €245,000. However, the asking price for a 3-bed semi-detached house in the county decreased by €2,500 over the quarter, and is now €245,000. This represents an increase of €10,000 compared to this time last year. Meanwhile, the asking price for a 4-bed semi-detached house in Cork rose by €20,000 over the quarter to €320,000. This means prices in the segment were up €25,000 compared to this time last year.
