(FOX 9) - Governor Tim Walz is ordering flags to be flown at half-staff at federal and state government buildings on Thursday in honor of a Minnesota paramedic who died while on duty last week. Toby Rowan was responding to a medical call when he collapsed at the scene and later passed away, according to the Mille Lacs County Sheriff s Office. Rowan worked as a paramedic for the Mille Lacs Health System in Onamia and Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby.

Snowmobiler injured in Cross Lake crash Crow Wing County Dispatch received a call of a snowmobile crash with injuries occurring on the north end of Cross Lake Monday, Jan. 11 Written By: PineandLakes Echo Journal | 5:00 am, Jan. 14, 2021 × Sheriff Scott Goddard reports that on Monday, Jan. 11, at approximately 1:26 p.m., Crow Wing County Dispatch received a call of a snowmobile crash with injuries occurring on the north end of Cross Lake, east of the Wharf channel. The driver, Peter King, a 59-year old male from Andover, struck an ice ridge on the lake, causing the snowmobile he was operating to roll over. King was riding near a marked trail system on the lake, but not on it. King sustained a possible leg injury because of the crash, and was transported via North Ambulance to Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby.
