Security forces have arrested a People s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) area commander carrying a bounty of Rs 2 lakh on his head along with seven other members of the banned outfit from Jharkhand. The arrested area commander Manoj Purti has been named in 50 cases of criminal offences including murder, attempt to murder, extortion, and arson. Jharkhand government had declared a reward of Rs 2 lakh on Purti s head for his involvement in these cases. All the eight Maoists were arrested from West Singhbhum in Jharkhand on Tuesday.

BJP leader booked for attacking ASP in Etawah

Etawah, July 12 : BJP leader Vimal Bhadauria has been booked for allegedly attacking ASP Etawah Prashant Kumar Prasad along with his aides during the voting for the post of block heads.
More than 125 unidentified persons have also been booked for indulging in violence during the polls.
An FIR has been registered at Barhpura police station on the instructions of senior officials.
SSP Etawah Brajesh Kumar Singh told reporters that Barhpura police station in-charge Jitendra Kumar Sharma had filed a case in this regard.
