SPOILING the area around the tomb of Florence Nightingale is a concern raised by objectors as solar farm plans progress in a Hampshire village. A parish councillor said the site in Wellow needed to be protected from any visual or sound impact caused by the nearby planned power plant. Despite this, plans for a substation and solar panels in Woodington Solar Farm were given the green light by Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC) southern area planning committee. Applicants behind the project, Woodington Solar Limited, said the substation, which was already connected to the solar farm plans granted permission back in 2017, was essential in exporting the electricity generated by the solar scheme to the national grid.
