County Executive Meyer announces opening of application process for Delaware Health Corps members, names Tonya Richardson as Program Director

New Castle, DE – New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer announced today that the county will begin accepting applications for National Health Corps Delaware Members for the 2021 Pilot Program Cohort. To apply, prospective applicants should visit application.nationalhealthcorps.org.
“This again puts New Castle County on the forefront of fighting this pandemic,” said Meyer. “Starting today, we are actively recruiting individuals from the hardest hit communities across our state to raise their hand to serve. This is a unique opportunity to start your career or change your career to have an impact on our county for years to come.”

After getting shelved last year – and doused with a heavy rain the year prior, Winterthur Museum is poised to hit the ground running with its Point-to-Point steeplechase on May 30.
This annual horse race is on pace to be one of the first major Delaware events of the year. The Division of Public Health approved Winterthur’s COVID-19 plan, allowing up to 3,600 guests for the event next month.
This pandemic rendition of Point-to-Point will include pod seating for up to 10 tailgating-guests per tent, race director Jill Abbott told Delaware Online/The News Journal.
All attendees are required to bring masks and wear them wherever they can’t maintain a safe distance of 6 feet from others outside of their group/household.

Old Sturbridge Village has raised the frame on a new cabinetmaking shop the first addition to its Village Common in more than 50 years years.
The new structure is located south of the Meeting House on the grounds of one of the country’s oldest and largest living history museums.
OSV has employed both historic and modern building methods in the construction of the Cabinetmaking Shop, which is patterned after period structures operated by early 19th century New England craftsmen.
