Andrea Roberts, CEO of Hands The Family Help Network in North Bay, says kids are struggling and some are suicidal.
“More individuals are accessing our virtual walk-in clinics, and more complex concerns are surfacing in the clients we serve,” Roberts says.
To help with this increased demand, Hands received $607,000 from the province this month to enhance its services to deal with demand in Nipissing, Parry Sound and Simcoe Muskoka.
Health Minister Christine Elliott and Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions Michael Tibollo announced $147 million across the province to address the impact the pandemic is having on the mental health of Ontario families.
