BOSTON - Freshman state Rep. Kip Diggs (D-Barnstable) has been named to six key legislative committees in the House of Representatives including the Committee on Tourism, Arts and Cultural Development and the Committee on Health Care Financing.
Rounding out Diggs assignments are the Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technologies, Housing, Education, and the Special Committee on Redistricting and Reapportionment.
“I am humbled and even more inspired to do the hard work that my district sent me to do,” said Diggs after the assignments were officially posted by House leadership. “Cape Cod is a destination for millions of people, but these assignments acknowledge the needs my communities have 12 months of the year, and I am more than ready to fight for my district.”

NORTHAMPTON Calling the state’s system for booking vaccination appointments “inexcusable,” Sen. Eric Lesser filed emergency legislation Thursday that directs the state Department of Public Health to immediately establish an accessible, one-stop online sign-up for COVID-19 vaccinations for both desktop computers and mobile devices.
The bill is co-sponsored by state Sens. Anne M. Gobi, D-Spencer, and Cindy Friedman, D-Arlington.
The legislation also requires state health officials to immediately establish a phone hotline in multiple languages, to be staffed 24/7, and directs DPH to notify residents of these options for vaccination registration using a text-based notification system like “AlertsMA.”
