PUTRAJAYA: With Malaysia once again registering a new record for daily Covid-19 cases, the highest one so far, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah warns that the next two weeks are critical as the worst may still come.
The Health director-general said the Malaysian public must prepare for the worst following a continuous surge in new cases.
“The rise in cases started on April 1 and could trigger a vertical surge. We need to prepare for the worst. Please help us by staying at home. Only together we can break the chain of infection,” he said in a Twitter post yesterday.

KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa said the Kuala Lumpur City Hall will screen and vaccinate at least 252 homeless people now in its custody.
Annuar said 119 people currently housed at the Kuala Lumpur Homeless Transit Centre, Anjung Kelana in Taman Desa as well as Anjung Singgah will start getting their vaccines on May 27.

The Federal Territories Minister said this was to allow the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation. The public is asked not to come to their own conclusions about the cause of the LRT mishap so as to not interfere in the investigations that are being carried out by the authorities, specifically the police and Prasarana Bhd. All efforts are being done by Prasarana to ensure that the LRT service is restored, he said in a tweet on Tuesday (May 25).
He also expressed his thanks to the personnel at Hospital Kuala Lumpur s emergency department who had worked hard to treat victims.

KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 Mobile Covid-19 vaccination centres as well as targeted screening to combat community infections will be introduced in the city, said Tan Sri Annuar Musa.
The Federal Territories minister said discussions on the initiative were ongoing with relevant parties including National Covid-19 Immunisation programme coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
Annuar said his ministry has also prepared three MyMedic Trucks to act as the mobile vaccination centres, with four more being fitted for the purpose.
