Prince Philip s prized ponies will play a poignant role in his funeral today, with the late Duke s love of carriages set to be on display.
A four-wheeled dark green carriage designed by the duke eight years ago will stay in the Quadrangle of Windsor Castle while his coffin, placed on a Land Rover, is carried past in the funeral procession.
The Land Rover was also designed by Prince Philip, who spent 16 years working on the project.
