As vaccine eligibility expands to more groups of people, so does vaccine accessibility. This week, the COVID vaccine is becoming available at more and more pharmacies in an effort to get more shots in arms. Earlier this month, Walgreens announced they would be vaccinating eligible Americans at pharmacies in 21 states. Now, as of Feb. 25, they re adding eight more states to the list. Walmart ready to begin administering COVID-19 vaccine after year of preparation

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - People will soon have more places to go to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Kroger is one of the pharmacies that has been selected to participate in the Federal Retail Pharmacy Partnership.
Exactly when that will happen in Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas is not clear. But Walmart is ready to go.

Walmart will start giving the COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday in the Memphis area.
“We want to protect as many patients as possible,” said Walmart Pharmacist Kevin Chung. “If you want to go back and have a sense of normal pre-Covid, this is going to be the way to do it.”
Starting next week, Walgreens stores in 15 states and jurisdictions will expand their COVID-19 vaccination efforts.
Vaccinations will begin Feb. 12 to those eligible, including healthcare workers, those 65 and older and those with existing conditions. A set number of doses will be allocated from the CDC directly to Walgreens in the 15 states and jurisdictions, one of which is North Carolina.
Marcella Thompson is not waiting any longer for her COVID-19 vaccine appointment at the Durham County Health Department next month. I want to get the vaccine because we are dying, Thompson said.
Instead, she s going to sign up to get the shot at her local Walgreens next week.
