EREVAN, May 25. /TASS/. One Armenian serviceman was mortally wounded in a skirmish at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in the Gegharkunik Province, Armenian Defense Ministry announced Tuesday. An Armenian Armed Forces volunteer, Junior Sergeant V. Khurshudian was mortally wounded in a skirmish that broke out after the enemy opened fire in the border district of Verin Shorzha in the Gegharkunik Province, the Defense Ministry said.
Earlier, the Defense Ministry reported a fire contact, registered near the settlement of Verin Shorzha at about 13:20 Moscow time, adding that the enemy has fired at the Armenian positions.

The Armenian opposition must give the society the clear knowledge that they are not pursuing a war agenda, political analyst Karen Bekaryan said Monday, warning otherwise of devastating consequences.
“The opposition must bring their agenda and show their own society that war is not part of that agenda. Otherwise, with speculations of the kind, the society is being given guidance to vote in favor of those vultures that tear the country apart,” the board chairman of the analytical centre
Hayatsk (Insight) said during his televised review on ArmNews TV channel.
Commenting on Ilham Aliyev’s “willingness” to discuss the terms of a peace pact with Armenia after the upcoming elections, the expert noted that the move gives the Azerbaijani leader time to consider and clearly express his country’s position on membership in Russia-led supranational structures (EAEU and the Collective Security Treaty Organization).
