MP: Cap-de-Ville coastal erosion project to restart - Lincoln Holder
Point Fortin MP Kennedy Richards Jr has said the Cap-de-Ville shoreline stabilisation work, which falls under the Ministry of Works and Transport’s coastal protection unit, will soon resume. It stopped for the Christmas period, and work was expected to resume this month, Richards told Newsday on Friday.
He said in December, a resident contacted him about the project. He said he met with the affected person and an official who promised to treat with the issue this month, when the work was expected to resume.
The MP shared two possible reasons for the delay: the pandemic and the availability of the type of stone used.

Bharath still willing to help UNC
Vasant Bharath -
FORMER St Augustine MP Vasant Bharath on Monday said he remains willing to help the UNC.
But he added that three weeks since the party s internal elections were held on December 7, neither UNC political leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar nor any member of the party s national executive (natex) has spoken to him about how he could best serve the party.
Persad-Bissessar was re-elected UNC leader on December 7, when her Star Team made a clean sweep over Bharath s Lotus Team in all posts in the party s executive. She called for healing within the party and said there would be a role for all who contested the elections, in the UNC s bid to return to government.
