Anonymous donor issues fundraising challenge for Gardiner Boys & Girls Clubs

GARDINER To help reach its $10 million fundraising goal, officials at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kennebec Valley are hoping a $1 million matching challenge will ignite contributions as 2020 draws to a close.
Gardiner’s Boys & Girls Clubs prepares to reopen after COVID-19 case
The club, which provides daycare and supervision for children on remote learning days, closed Dec. 1 after the report of a COVID-19 case required staff, students and and children in daycare to quarantine for two weeks.

GARDINER The Boys & Girls Clubs of Kennebec Valley is expected to reopen Monday, two weeks after a single COVID-19 case caused the club’s Gardiner building to close.
Ingrid Stanchfield, executive director, said the decision to close the club which provides both daycare and supervision for children on school district remote learning days came because with six staff members among the group that needed to be quarantined, the center could not operate.
