The toddler received full thickness burns to his left hand, believed to be on an oven, in a Mooroobool house earlier this year, which was left untreated for three days.

Subscriber only A CHARGE has been dropped against a Cairns refrigeration company over the tragic death of an employee who fell 8m at a worksite. Portsmith-based Alphacool was charged by Workplace Health and Safety last year with one count of failing to comply with health and safety duty. Sol Fagan, 40, with wife Hayley Schoon and children Sojah and Sophia. WHS had initially alleged Alphacool did not formally induct Mr Fagan into workplace safety procedures, it failed to implement safety control measures and it did not provide adequate supervision on the day he died.

A man has been allegedly caught piloting a scissor lift on a night-time joyride through the streets of a major Australian city on two consecutive nights.
Footage on Thursday showed police stopping the lift in the middle of Shields Street in Cairns, far north Queensland before a man wearing boardshorts and a hi-vis shirt climbed down from the partly-extended picker. I thought I d seen pretty much everything, a police officer can be heard saying in the clip. Where did you get that from? she asked the man.
Police stopped the cherry picker on Thursday morning and arrested the driver (pictured)
