Driver dies after vehicle hits tree and caught fire on US 1 in Kershaw

Jan 13, 2021 5:35 AM EST (ABC Columbia/FILE) KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – The Kershaw County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a collision where the vehicle caught fire on Tuesday. Coroner David West says Rosemary Johnson, 50, died on U.S. Highway 1 near Mecklenburg Road from her injuries. According to Highway Patrol, after 6 a.m., Johnson was driving south on Highway 1 in a 2004 Mitsubishi, when she went off the left side of the road, overturned and hit a tree. Troopers say the vehicle later caught on fire. This incident remains under investigation.

(WIS) - The Kershaw County Coroner’s Office has identified the couple who were found dead inside a Camden house fire. The bodies of Steven Hales and Nancy Hales were found on January 10 after officials extinguished the fire at their home on Lyttleton Street. The cause of death for both victims has been ruled a homicide. They had been married for 36 years and moved to Camden in 2005, the coroner’s office said.
