Catskill Game Farm Reveal New Attractions
New owners of the Game Farm property have pulled the curtain back on what their plans are for the property moving forward.
Back in November we told you about the emotional goodbye from previous owners Ben and Cathy Ballone. After years of rehab to the grounds of the former Catskill Game Farm, they announced that they ve sold the property to new owners. Their announcement said that they were confident that the new owners were going to do great things with it and it looks like some of those plans have been revealed.
According to Hudson Valley 360, the new owners paid somewhere around $1.9 million for the property back in November and are now planning to invest even more money into the property, that until 2006 was home to thousands of animals and attractions.

Long a staple at petting zoos for the friendliness and adorable antics, pygmy goats have earned more recent recognition as the animal partners for yoga enthusiasts. They ve been deemed so lovable, in fact, that they re making a play for becoming man s new best friend (watch out Fido!).
But unlike the family dog, even small goats are barnyard animals, so anyone looking to welcome pygmy goats as pets might not want to keep them in the house, and definitely not on the furniture!

While April may be the star of the show in Harpursville, there might be a new celebrity in town.

The legacy of the Catskill Game Farm in the Hudson Valley will get to live on in its boutique hotel and glamping sites, which has changed hands to new owners, selling for just under two million dollars.
Known as the first privately owned zoo in the United States, the Catskill Game Farm opened in 1933 and ran for 73 years before finally closing in 2006. At its peak, the zoo had 2,000 animals and hosted about 500,000 visitors a year. According to the property’s website, it was once considered “America’s greatest zoo.”
Old Catskill Game Farm is Now an Inn and Offers Glamping Tents
The once-abandoned Catskill Game Farm has a new life after new owners bought the property back in November. Its new life includes tents for glamping and it will operate as an inn.
The Catskill Game Farm opened in the 1930s and was the largest privately owned zoo in the country. Tens of millions of visitors wandered the property checking out the exotic animals until it closed in 2006. At that point, it was pretty much abandoned and forgotten about until it was purchased in 2012 by a couple that wanted to turn it into an Inn. They did a lot of work and made a bunch of improvements, but last year decided to put it up for sale for $2 million.
