He was 91.
According to his obituary:
Covey, a native of Martin s Ferry, joined the Navy at 17 and later graduated from Ohio State University in 1952 with a degree in public relations.
He was recruited by the former Timken Roller Bearing Co. to work as an assistant editor of the company s employee magazine, and later joined Meldrum & Fewsmith, an advertising agency in Cleveland.
In 1967, Covey launched his own advertising and marketing firm, Covey and Koons, in Canton, according to his obituary.
Covey, who later moved to North Canton, was deeply involved as a volunteer in numerous community organizations and local charities, including the Boy Scouts, the Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival, the Canton Advertising Club, which named him Ad Man of the Year in 1968.
The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank is a partner in the Food Farmacy pilot program in Summit County.
Ohio is launching a new program this year, beginning in Summit County, that focuses on the link between chronic illness and poor nutrition and connects food-insecure patients with the medical and nutritional support they need beyond the doctor’s office.
It’s called the Food Farmacy Pilot Project with Farmacy spelled with an “F” to highlight the importance of good nutrition in combatting chronic disease. The program is a partnership between the Ohio Department of Medicaid, Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank and local hospital systems including Akron Children s Hospital, Summa Health and Cleveland Clinic.

In its fifth year, the Chase Plastics Giving Card Campaign concluded on December 15th by awarding donations totaling $7,500 to three nominated charities. CLARKSTON, Mich. (PRWEB) December 22, 2020 In previous years, the company donated $1,000 to three charities, but due to the overwhelming response and the compelling stories of giving in a difficult year, three deserving charities were selected to receive donations of $2,500 each.

On Dec. 15, donations to both the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank will be matched by private donors. Here s how to help:
